On Sunday, TriNet’s Q3 company event for the Bradenton, Tampa, Manasota, Lakeland and Bonita Springs, Florida, offices was attending the Tampa Bay Rays game against the Cleveland Indians at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg. All colleagues were treated to the traditional ballpark hotdog, soda and cracker jacks, as well as TriNet branded cowbells to ring at the game. Many colleagues brought guests and family members. One lucky colleague, though, had the opportunity of a lifetime; she had her name drawn out of a hat last Wednesday and was “really thrilled” to be the headliner for Sunday’s ceremonial first pitch.
Check out our photo album on Facebook of Debbie Hetzer, Director of Risk Operations and Underwriting, preparing for her big moment, throwing the pitch, and meeting the “catcher” (who is really pitcher Wade Davis).
“It was a lot further to home plate than I thought it would be and I’m glad my son Kyle made me practice and shared some pointers,” she said after the throw. “I now know what a four seam grip is! I had a great time and this is a completely unexpected item I can cross off my ‘bucket list’.”
Debbie, who has been a TriNet colleague for more than 15 years, shared the moment with her family; her husband Marc, a TriNet colleague for 12 years, and son Kyle, 11, were both excited to be witnessing Debbie’s moment on the field.
Meredith Johnson, TriNet’s VP of Human Resources, added, “We had more than 450 colleagues and their families in attendance to support our hometown team and to top it off, one of our colleagues threw out the first pitch! It was fun to see Debbie embrace the moment with all her colleagues cheering her on.”

Debbie! Thanks so much for sharing this – what a blast! Kyle must’ve been really ecstatic! You looked great out there and I admire your courage.
Best,
Mike
