Few industries have experienced the regulatory transformation that is underway in the financial services industry. Just this week, President Obama signed into law the most sweeping banking reforms since the Depression.
The intent of the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act is to curb risky business bets by banks and other financial institutions that contributed mightily to the recent recession.
Of course, this was never the problem for many community banks such as Dallas-based Preston National, a TriNet customer since July 2009. Still, as Debbie Crump, VP and Cashier at Preston National Bank explains to us in our newest case study, such regulation greatly complicates her dual role of managing compliance while also simultaneously running HR and security.
Crump says that working with TriNet “frees my time up to take care of more important things that are pending, such as government regulations that change constantly.”
We can appreciate her dilemma. It’s why we’re here to help her without adding to the complexity of her workday. So far, so good. She adds, “I mostly talk to the staff on payroll and HR issues and they have been great.”

George Glover is an 11-year TriNet employee. He is a valued member of our web development team, but his talents extend far beyond his role as a graphic designer. Outside of the office, he is an accomplished musician and has been playing professionally for the last 35 years.
George has a long history of playing piano and keyboard and made his living as a musician prior to joining TriNet. In the mid ’70s, George toured with saxophonist John Handy, opening for Richard Pryor, Grover Washington Jr., and George’s favorite band, Weather Report. He toured with numerous acts along the West Coast and Canada throughout the ’80s and, in the ’90s, played on Hornblower cruise liners and for private events, teaming up with his wife, vocalist Nita Hamilton, and saxophonist Johnny Almond (of John Mayall and the Bluesbreakers and The Mark-Almond Band fame).
George’s passion for music continues today, and his George Glover Trio can be seen playing original and classic jazz tunes in small venues all over the East Bay. George’s wife is often his featured vocalist and both are currently working on their own solo albums. Their son plays drums in a band, and two of their three daughters play guitar, piano and flute, as well as sing.

Job satisfaction is a simple idea but behind it — as every employer knows — is a complicated set of variables having to do with pay, company culture, work/life balance, performance and job benefits, among many other factors.

The FP article leans [...]
